Cisco Ruiz

Cisco Ruiz

Cisco started playing bass at 21 years old.  There is a mysterious beginning to his bass career that takes place in Feb of 1991 in Kitzegen, Germany when he first got his bass guitar.  It was a Horner short scale with a horrible color of dark blue and orange crackle paint on it.  He was told that the original owner mysteriously disappeared when he went to Mexico and never returned.

Cisco is now playing as a solo bassist to entertain the masses with an eclectic style of rhythms and melodies.  It is definitely a work in the experimental, however so was Frank Zapp.  Cisco gives a fresh perspective of instrument/voice mix, playing a variety of music including alternative, rock, jazz, and country music.

Cisco toured extensively throughout Europe, Denmark, and the sub-continents.  He play with Guns n’ Roses cover band in the Irish Pub Scene, recording two studio albums ”Magic Beans” and “ Best of Abstract”,  and also opened for Molly Hatchet.  Since '97 Cisco has played with numerous bands: Quinn of the Tampa Bay area, and several Houston bands including the Ken Valentino Band, the Tom Foolery Band, and the Contra Band, just to name a few.  Cisco is also working on his solo album "Dauntless" due to be released in December of 2004.
