David Thomas was raised in southern Michigan, where he began playing violin at age 10. Trained in the classical style for eight years, he received six consecutive "Superior" ratings at the Michigan State Solo and Ensemble Festival.

Since then his playing tastes have broadened to include not only classical music but also country, blues, Celtic and rock-and-roll, among other styles. Now a resident of Galveston, Dave continues to explore his talents as an improvising violinist.
